Markings: All: The fire control unit (FCU) is marked with the respective serial number and with a QR square on the right side, visible through a window on the grip frame. The left-inside of the FCU is marked “SIG SAUER INC / NEWINGTON-NH USA.”. The top-inside of the FCU below the takedown lever is marked “091120”. The right of the grip frame is marked “NEWINGTON, NH, USA” above the trigger guard, each side of the grip has “SIG SAUER”. The left of the slide is marked “SIG SAUER M18” and “MFR: 6ZWB1 PN: 13067088-1”. The inside of the slide is marked “A18 1237 03”. The right of the barrel is marked “9mm x 19 / 6ZWB1”, the left “SIG SAUER / A21”.

Sights/ Optics: All: The sights are a night-sight set. The front sight is a blade with a single green lamp, dovetailed to the front of the slide. The rear sight is a square notch with two orange lamps mounted to a plate on the rear of the slide. The lamps hold a dim glow in low light environments. The plate can be removed for mounting a reflex sight (none present).

Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: All: The grip is one-piece Coyote Tan polymer with a textured grip area, serrations on the front of the trigger guard, and integral picatinny rail on the dust cover for mounting accessories (none present). There is no significant wear or damage. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grip is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: All: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: 

DT001: The pistol retains about 97% of its metal finish. There is a tiny dot through the finish on the top of the slide. There are faint marks on the rear sight base plate. There is a takedown mark on the left side of the frame where the lever moves over. There is operational wear on the top of the barrel. There is some light handling wear on the controls. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Fine-Excellent condition.

DT002: The pistol retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are faint marks on the rear sight base plate. There is operational wear on the top of the barrel. There is some light handling wear on the controls. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Fine-Excellent condition.

Mechanics: All: The action functions correctly. The slide to frame fit has no perceptible play. We did not fire this pistol. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: From Sig’s website, “The M18-Commemorative is a 9mm, striker-fired pistol. The pistol features a coyote carry length grip module, a coyote-tan PVD coated stainless steel slide with the same optic cut as specified by the MHS contract, the original coyote-tan colored controls, an ambidextrous manual safety, and is equipped with SIGLITE front night sights and removable night sight rear plate.  The M18-Commemorative ships with two 21-round magazines and one 17-round magazine and is sold in the same cardboard packaging as delivered to the U.S. Army.

The SIG SAUER M18-Commemorative pistol features a unique serial number ranging from M18-0001 through M18-5000.  Upon registration of the M18-Commemorative pistol, the purchaser will receive an official certificate of authenticity and commemorative challenge coin, both with serial numbers matching the purchased M18-Commemorative pistol.”
