Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “COLT”, features a depiction of two eagles heads, “DOUBLE EAGLE” and “-MKII/SERIES 90-”. The top of the barrel is marked “-COLT 45 AUTO-”. The right side of the slide is marked “COLT DOUBLE ACTION”. The right side of the frame is marked “COLT’S PT. FA., MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A. / DJ01079”. The grip panels are both decorated with the Colt logo.

Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a blade with a white dot fixed to the slide. The rear sight is a square-notch with two white dots dovetailed to slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The grip panels are two piece checkered black synthetic and there is a black synthetic checkered back-strap. There are some checkers which have blunted points, but no notable damage. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grip panels are in Fine-Excellent condition.
Type of Finish: Stainless Steel
Finish Originality: The surfaces have been polished bright.
Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: The pistol retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Excellent condition as refinished.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The single-action trigger is crisp and the double-action is smooth. The slide to frame fit is snug. We did not fire this pistol. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box Paperwork and Accessories: The pistol comes with a blue Colt carrying case in a cardboard sleeve (no label), a single 8-round magazine, and a user manual. The sleeve has moderate-heavy wear with some missing ears.
Our Assessment: This Colt Double Eagle Mark II Series 90 is a single and double-action semi-automatic pistol chambered for 9mm Luger rounds. The Colt Double Eagle line was a series of Colt Model 1911s manufactured from approximately 1990-1996. The Double Eagles operate with the Browning/Colt short recoil system, feature a pivoting lock system that was used by the Government Model, have a decocking lever and squared off combat trigger guard. This particular handgun has some light handling wear but it remains mechanically sound and aesthetically pleasing. For fans of John Browning’s Model 1911, this is a nicely made variant you do not want to miss out on!
