Our Assessment: The S&W Model 25 was originally was The 1955 Model .45 Target Heavy Barrel, alternately chambered for .45 ACP and .45 Colt. This example is the Mountain Gun, chambered for .45 Colt with a 4″ lightweight barrel and round-butt. As the name suggests, this would be a great carry gun when hiking where you may encounter predators. The .45 Colt is a stout round, especially with modern cartridges, and will be good protection against just about anything you’ll encounter in North America. The gun is in Fine-Excellent condition with only light cosmetic wear but has a great bore and strong mechanics. If you’re a Smith collector or just want a powerful revolver for your outdoor adventures, this is a great gun to pick up. Please see our photos and good luck!
