Our Assessment: This 2 1/2″ Model 686 Stainless Revolver is a serious tool for self defense. It is compact, solid and accurate. With its adjustable sights, you will be able to fine tune this to whatever loads you decide to use in it. This would be the perfect size for carry for those of you that prefer shooting guns with a bit of heft. This will absorb the recoil better than an Airweight and ought to provide more control for follow up shots. This revolver is beautiful and looks fantastic with its custom S&W grips. The finger grooves would be nice for those with bigger hands. Don’t let this one get away.
