Action Type: Top-Break, Over/Under and Un-Single Shotgun with Single Selective Trigger and Individual Ejectors
Markings: The top tang is marked “L08950B” and with an odd, upside-down “Y”. The water table is marked with three Italian proofs. The bottom of the receiver is marked “MADE IN ITALY”. The trigger plate is marked “PATENTED / Mod. 687 EELL” and is signed “Bottega C. Giovanelli”. The receiver has extensive scroll and floral engraving with fowl scenes on the lockplates. The top of the forend iron is marked “08950”. The exterior of the trigger guard, forend iron and the forend latch have scroll and floral engraving matching the receiver. The bottom of the trigger guard is marked “TRAP” in gold.
O/U Barrel Set: The left of the top barrel forward of the chamber is marked “P. Beretta – Gardone V.T. – ITALY -” with “PB” in oval, the left of the chamber is marked “TRAP / 12 GA. 2 3/4? – 30?”. The left of the bottom barrel is marked “-EXCELSIOR – HIGH STRENGTH ALLOYED STEEL –” and with Italian proofS. The bottom of the bottom barrel is marked “24071”. The bottom of the monoblock is marked “R21571B”, with three Italian proofs and “BB” in box date code. The right of the top barrel’s chamber is marked “BERETTA USA CORP. ACKK, MD. / MADE IN ITALY”.
Un-Single Barrel: The left of the top “chamber” is marked “P. Beretta – Gardone V.T. – ITALY – / Mono – 12 GA. 2 3/4″ – 34″ – F” and “PB” in oval, the right is marked “BERBEN CORPORATION N.Y.-N.Y. / MADE IN ITALY”. The left of the barrel is marked “EXCELSIOR – HIGH STRENGTH ALLOYED STEEL-” and with Italian proof/inspection marks. The left of the monoblock is marked “35245”, the bottom-left with “R14685B”, with Italian proofs and “AP” in box date code.
O/U: The barrels are threaded for Mobil chokes with Modified over Improved Modified installed.
Un-Single: Full, Fixed
Sights / Optics: Each barrel set has a red fiber-optic sight in a base at the front of their ventilated rib and a small metal mid-bead. The top of the ribs are finely checkered for glare reduction.
O/U: 9 lb., 6.3 oz.
Un-Single: 10 lb., 5.7 oz.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered select walnut with a finger-grooved forend, pistol grip, adjustable monte-carlo comb and adjustable buttplate with black rubber Kick-Eez buttpad. The stocks have minor handling wear with only a few scattered light marks. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. The forend has minor play to the barrel set. The LOP measures 14 3/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad, 13 1/8? to the back of the wood. As currently adjusted, drop at the front of the comb measures approximately 1 3/8?, drop at the back of the comb 1 3/8″ and drop at heel 1 3/4?, consistent across both barrel sets. The cast is about neutral, but the comb is adjusted out to the right. The pad has light wear but is still supple. Overall, the stocks are in Very Good-Fine condition and will easily rate Fine once the forend has been tightened up.

Finish Originality: The finish is Original to the parts, the barrel is not original to the gun.
Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion in the bores.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains approximately 97% of its metal finish. There is minor operational wear, mostly concealed while assembled. There are a few scattered minor marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Fine-Excellent condition as not parts original.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors. The action locks up tight with no play. The safety does not set automatically but functions properly when set manually. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Beretta 687 EELL Trap in 12 gauge is a great example of quality Beretta shotguns as well as being a beautiful work of art. From the solid action to Bottega Giovanelli’s beautifully engraved scenes on the receiver, this is a shotgun that will turn some heads at the range with performance to match its looks. The shotgun has 30? vent-rib barrels and is threaded for Optima chokes, so it could serve as a great sporting clays gun, the included un-single barrel set will also make a wonderful Trap gun.
