Markings: The right side of the slide is marked “COLTS GOVERNMENT MODEL”. The right side of the frame is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.” and “70L10009”. The right side of the trigger guard bow is marked “D”. The left side of the slide is marked “COLT’S MK IV / SERIES ’70 / GOVERNMENT MODEL / 9mm LUGER CALIBER”. The barrel is marked “CAL. 9MM. Luger / MK IV/Series 70″.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blue ramped blade fixed to the front on the slide. The rear sight is a square notched leaf dovetail set to the top of the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The two piece checkered walnut grips sport a gold Rampant Colt Medallion on each panel. The grips exhibit only minor evidence of handling and rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. Only a few minor marks are visible, mostly on the soft matte finish. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol is equipped with one 8-round magazine which is stamped “COLT / 9MM. LUGER” on the floorplate and is in Fine condition. The package is housed in a white Styrofoam box and wood grained pasteboard sleeve, which is marked with the caliber and serial number of the pistol. The box is in Very Good condition.
Our Assessment: The Colt MK IV Series 70 Government Model 1911A1 was manufactured for only 6 years in 9MM Luger. This one is in Excellent condition, retaining about 99% of its metal finish. It is housed in an original Colt box and appears to be completely factory original. This is a great collectors’ piece for 1911 aficionados.
