Markings: The left of the barrel is marked “—WINCHESTER—”, “U.S. REPEATING ARMS CO., NEW HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / JAPAN/MIROKU” and “WINCHESTER TRADEMARKS LICENSED FROM OLIN CORPORATION”. The right of the barrel is marked “CAL..45-90 BLACK POWDER ONLY” and “LIMITED SERIES”. The top tang is marked “WINCHESTER Model 1886”, the bottom-front of the receiver is marked with the serial number, “00001 / MW86C”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded blade dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a buckhorn elevator sight that is dovetailed to the rear of the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece smooth walnut with a capped forend, straight grip and crescent blue steel buttplate. The stocks are free of any notable wear or damage. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 3/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has no evident wear. Overall, the stocks rate in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. There is some faint fouling midway.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are a few faint scratches along the mag tube. There are some faint scuffs on the sides of the lever. There is light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The lever lock-up is tight and the trigger is crisp. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle includes a red serial matching Winchester box, a security lock, a safety brochure, and the manual.
Our Assessment: This is a Winchester model 1886 Limited Series in .45-90 caliber, a limited series manufacturing of rifles in 2004 with serial number 00001. The 1886 followed up the 1876, providing a much stronger action which was able to withstand larger and more powerful cartridges. The design would later be shrunk for the model 1892. This modern reproduction is the .45-90 version. By appearances, this one has seen almost no use and is in Fine-Excellent condition. It retains 98% of its metal finish with a gorgeous bore, strong mechanics, and would make a great addition to any collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
