Our Assessment: This is an early Weatherby Mark XXII made by Beretta in Italy and features laser skipline checkering, rosewood pistol and forend caps. This version of the Mark XXII was made in limited quantities by Beretta from the mid-1960’s to early 70’s before the production was moved to Japan. The Beretta version is preferable and collectable and typically fetches substantially higher prices than the version made in Japan. Not only is the wood of a higher grade and has a richer look, but the design of the stock is cleaner. If you happen to be a Weatherby collector, don’t miss the opportunity to take this one home with you. Please see our photos and good luck!
