Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA” and “7.0”. The left side of the barrel shank is marked with the serial number and 2 small proofs. The left side of the receiver is marked with 2 small profs and “ZBROJOVKA BRNO, NARODNI PODNIK”. The scope is marked “WEAVER / K4-1 USA”. The front scope ring screw is marked “AUSTRALIA”.

Barrel Length: Approximately 20 1/2 Inches

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade set atop a ramped base and under a protective hood. The rear sight is a flip up “V” notched blade set in a barrel mounted base.
The receiver is topped with integral scope rails that hold the fixed 4 power scope. The glass appears clear and uses a duplex reticle. The scope tube & rings show scrapes & scratches.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The full length hardwood  Mannnlicher stock stock has a pistol grip with plastic grip base, raised cheek piece, checkering on the grip & forearm, nosecap, 2 sling loops, and a Pachmayr hard rubber recoil pad with colored spacers. The stock shows numerous scrapes, scratches, and compression marks. Many of the marks are small or light. The LOP measures 14 1/4 inches from the face of the front trigger and 13 1/4 inches from the face of the rear trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Very Good Plus overall condition.

Bore Condition: The muzzle & grooves are semi bright and the rifling is deep. There is fouling in the grooves and at the muzzle which should clean up a bit. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 92% its metal finish. The metal shows scrapes and scratches. The front sight shows surface erosion and oxidation. The barrel shows discoloration from oxidation below the rear sight. The rear sight shows punch marks. The screw heads show moderate use. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The rifle comes with a scope assembly and a leather sling.

Our Assessment: This Czechoslovakian commercial Mauser was made back in 1949. The finish has a few cosmetic issues but the rifle is in Very Good Plus condition with a strong bright bore. The rifle is topped with a 4 power Weaver scope that is also in Very Good Plus condition. The rifle’s double set triggers and Mannlicher stock add to the rifles impressive look. It will add to your Mauser collection and should do well at the range. Good luck.
