Our Assessment: The Walther PP, or Polizei Pistole, was introduced in 1929 and found great success both commercially and with law enforcement agencies. Walther’s original factory was located in Zella-Mehlis in the “Land” (state) of Thuringia. As that part of Germany was occupied by the Soviet Union following World War II, Walther fled to West Germany, where they established a new factory in Ulm. This is a 9mm caliber Walther Model PP made in 1938 at the factory in Thuringia. It is in Good-Very Good condition with roughly 75% original finish remaining. It bears the less commonly found “9 m/m” marking on the slide and a magazine marked the same. Walther’s are known for their reliability, and this should give someone decades of shooting fun. That said, they are also collectible. This example is in good condition and would be a great addition to a Walther collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
