Markings: The right side of the frame is marked “DETONICS .45 / SEATTLE, WA / CR16300”. The left side of the slide is marked “DETONICS .45 / Mk VII”.

Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for sights on this pistol.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The two piece checkered walnut grips exhibit a small compression mark in the bottom rear corner of the left panel, but otherwise very little evidence of use is visible. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Finish Originality: All Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. A couple shallow scratches and finish loss are visible on the top of the frame. Several shallow marks appear scattered on the frame and shallow corrosion can be seen in the grooves of the frame safety. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Fine to Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The pistol is equipped with one 6-round magazine and is housed in a fleece lined vinyl Detonics soft case. Both are in Excellent condition. The package is accompanied by a Detonics manual, advertising brochure, price list and information sheet, all in Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: The Detonics Combat Master series was one of the first small 1911 style ‘pocket pistols’. The MK VII is a rare model with the reputation of having been designed for the CIA. Definitely a close combat weapon, the MK VII has no sights, insuring it can be produced from a pocket without snagging. This MK VII is in Fine to Excellent condition. The mechanics are tight and it retains about 97% of its original stainless steel finish. It is chambered in .45ACP, giving it plenty of stopping power in a small package. These little pistols don’t come up for sale very often, so this is an unusual chance to acquire a rare pistol.
