Our Assessment: This is a Smith & Wesson Model 617, 10-Shot .22 Long Rifle Single and Double Action Target Revolver with a 6” full underlug barrel. These revolvers are tremendous fun to shoot and this one will be no different. So much fun, that an aftermarket supply of speed-loaders and speed-loader blocks has sprung up to service the demand. You can use this revolver to compete in everything from Ruger Rimfire Matches to the Steel Challenge. You can use it for informal or formal target shooting and taking care of pests. You can use it for practice, as an understudy, instead of using expensive centerfire ammo to practice double-action revolver shooting. But most of all, you can use it with your friends and family to have fun! Please see our photos and good luck!
