The screws have light tool marks and strong slots, and all markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine-plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: The Ruger rings mentioned above, along with the scope.

Our Assessment: The Ruger M77 is a robust bolt-action rifle designed in 1968 by L. James Sullivan during his short three-years with Ruger. Intended as a modernized Mauser 98, it featured simplified ejector updates and a newly designed safety system—gone is the grip tang switch, replaced with a switch situated to the right of the bolt. This rifle dates back to 2006. This example features a 22” barrel chambered for .30-06 Springfield set into a handsome stock, making for a fine rifle suited to taking down varmints and for general target practice! Good luck and happy bidding!
