Our Assessment: This is a Smith & Wesson Wells Fargo Edition Model 3 Schofield Single Action Revolver in .45 Schofield with the “WFE” serial prefix. It is a 6-shot top break revolver with a 5” barrel, and a polished blue finish with a case-colored hammer, trigger, trigger guard and barrel latch. The grips are fancy burl walnut, complete with cartouche. The revolver was made as a limited-edition modern reproduction of the original Schofield by the S&W Performance Center, incorporating the modern technical and engineering advances of the last 125 years. This is a beautiful revolver that comes with its original case. The revolver shows no handling marks except for a light drag line in the cylinder. This revolver would make a great addition to any S&W or top break revolver collection. There were not many of these made, so it is only going to increase in value as time goes on.
