The sides of the front sight base and hood show some nicks and scratches and the base has had black marker applied to it. The barrel shows a few faint hardly noticeable marks throughout. The screw heads are sharp and the markings are crisp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine-Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The rifle has a cross-bolt safety at the back of the trigger guard and a slide release at the left front of the trigger guard. The trigger pull is crisp. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The previously mentioned scope is included and one 3-round magazine that clips into the floorplate.
Our Assessment: The Browning BPR is a pump-action centerfire rifle based on the BAR. The BPR Pump Rifle was introduced in 1997 and was discontinued in 2001. The barrel is blued, the trigger is gold plated and the receiver has a blackened alloy finish. The rifle is in about Fine-Plus condition with 97% of its metal finish remaining. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion. This rifle looks like it was taken out of the box, fired a few times, cleaned, and then put away for storage. We couldn’t see any handling marks in the metal other than a slight wear mark on the right side of the trigger. This sharp looking rifle will make a beautiful addition to any collection of pump action rifles, especially given its short production run of just four years. It also comes with a clean Nikon ProStaff optic installed. All this beauty needs is a sling and it will be ready for the hunt. Please see our photos and good luck!
