The stocks have scattered minor nicks, scuffs and scratches. There is a more notable scratch below the comb on the right side and there are a few minor cracks around the front edges of the wrist. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips. The LOP measures 14 1/4″ and 13 1/2″ from the fronts of the triggers to the back of the recoil pad. Drop at comb is approximately 1 1/2″, drop at heel 2 1/2″. The pad has light wear and has hardened some from age. Overall, the stocks are in Very Good condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 96% of its metal finish. The balance is mostly in scattered discoloration in the receiver’s silver finish. The water table and standing breech have finish loss consistent with use. The barrels show only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors. The lockup is tight. The safety does not return to Safe when the action is opened, but functions properly when set manually. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.

Our Assessment: Browning is not the only company to have found that Japan has some high quality firearms manufacturers. In the late ’60s and ’70s, Ithaca also contracted to have side-by-side shotguns made for them, choosing SKB rather than Miroku. The result is a fine-quality double gun with graceful lines, a nice balance and of course, strong mechanics. The Ithaca SKB model 200 is prized by hunters, sportsmen and even competitors in Cowboy Action Shooting for its craftsmanship and durability. This one is a 20 Gauge Skeet model in Fine condition and shows some wear in the stocks, little in the metal, great bores and a tight lockup. It has scroll engraving on its silver finished receiver, and it is a real looker that ought to shoot well, too. Please see our photos and good luck!
