Markings: The left side of the slide is marked with the company logo and “CZ 97 BD CAL. .45 AUTO”, the right is marked “19”, “C / CZ”, and “C968482” at the front. The left side of the frame is marked “MADE IN / CZECH REPUBLIC”. The right side of the frame is marked “CZ-USA, KANSAS CITY, KS” and “C968482”. The right side of the barrel is marked “CIP / N” and “C968482”.

Sights/Optics: The front sight is a blade with a glowing dot pinned to the slide in a fore to aft slot and the rear is a square notch base with two glowing dots, dovetailed to the rear of the slide. The dots hold a strong glow in low light levels.
Stock Configuration and Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered black alloy panels with CZ logos molded into the bottom of each panel. The grips have no notable wear or damage, just light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The grips are in Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The barrel has light operational wear. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The double action trigger is smooth. The single action trigger has a smooth takeup with a little bit of creep before breaking. The slide is slotted to the inside of the frame, making for a superb mating of the two parts with no measurable play. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: The pistol comes in a black plastic CZ case, paperwork including a manual and test target, two 10-round magazines, and a bushing wrench.
Our Assessment: From CZ’s website: “Designed in 1975, the CZ 97 is the flagship model of the CZ handgun line with over one million produced. An entire family of pistols is available based on the basic CZ 97 design: compacts, decockers, single action only, ambidextrous, alloy frames as well as competition pistols. Just as the standard 75 has a decocker variant, so does the 97. For those who prefer the heavy double action first pull, the BD model adds a manual decocker to help drop the hammer to half-cock. The 97 BD shares many of the features of the B model, including its hardy black polycoat finish and thin aluminum checkered grips. Besides the decocker, the BD also adds a set of 3-dot tritium night sights.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. This is a 2019 97 BD with its original box and gorgeous alloy grips that sit beautifully against the black polycoat finish, making this pistol very aesthetically pleasing. The pistol is in Excellent condition, showing more signs of handling than firing and comes with a pair of magazines. Please see our photos and good luck!
