Markings: The left side of the upper barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. / MADE IN JAPAN”. The right of the top barrel is marked “SPECIAL STEEL 12 GA-2 3/4” AND 3”-26””. The top tang, under the lever, is marked with the serial number. The sides of the receiver are marked with scroll engraving. The bottom of the receiver is marked “BROWNING / Citori”. The inside of the forend iron is marked “08593” and the inside of the forend is stamped “8593”. The bottom of the monoblock is marked with proofs. The left side of the monoblock is marked “08593”, the top chamber is marked “**”, and the bottom chamber is marked “**-“. The left side of the lower barrel is marked “4” and the left side of the upper barrel is marked “3”. The trigger guard is marked with a BuckMark.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a metal bead set on the rib at the muzzle. The top of the rib is checkered for glare reduction.

Stock, Configuration & Condition: The stocks are checkered walnut with a finger groove forend, pistol grip, and straight comb. There are some compressions and draglines. There are a few little marks throuhg the finish. There are a few dings into the wood, the most noticeable are on the belly. There are a few thin scratches, the most noticeable are on the left side of the buttstock. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is strong. The LOP measures approximately 14 1/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the Browning brown rubber buttpad. The drop at comb is approximately 1 1/2” and at heel 2 1/4”. The cast is about neutral. The pad has some light handling wear. The stocks rate in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright with no erosion.
Overall Condition: This gun retains about 95% of its metal finish. The frame has a slightly plum hue. There are a few little marks on the frame, most noticeable on the bottom. There is some faint edge wear. The bottom tang has finish loss. There are some little nicks at the muzzles, mostly just on the right side of the top barrel. There are some scattered light handling marks. There are some little marks on the edges of the rib. There is a ding on the front left corner of the rib. There is some minor finish wear on the barrel set from the installation of the forend, but they are not visible when the gun is assembled. There are some light handling marks. There is standard operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The lockup is tight. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: Browning Citori shotguns are extremely dependable and make for great investments. The Citori was introduced in 1973 as an alternative to the highly successful Superposed model. It has been made ever since in numerous calibers and configurations filling just about any role you could think of for an over under shotgun. This example has 26” barrels chambered for 12 Gauge 3 inch shells that are choked Modified over Improved Cylinder. This one has a tight lockup, bright bores, and a lot of original finish with hardly anything in the way of wear, you would never guess that it is over 40 years old. This ought to be a great shotgun for hunting or clay shooting for the lucky winner. Please see our photos and good luck!
