Our Assessment: Ruger introduced the Blackhawk in 1955 with the ‘Flat Top’ and ‘Pre-Warning’ versions, paving the way to an inevitable evolution in the design; the New Model revolvers were designed with a Transfer Bar Safety, a measure taken to compensate for that pesky tendency for human beings to err. This example is from 1992 and is notable for being ready for handgun hunting. The included Ruger rings make easy work of equipping the gun with an optic (which is, sadly, not included). The bore is bright and with a 7 1/2″ barrel, you add a little bit of energy and direction to the .44 Remington Magnum cartridge. Good luck and happy bidding!
