The LOP measures 14 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the back of the pad, 13 1/2″ to the back of the wood. The pad shows light wear, mostly at the heel, and is still supple. As currently adjusted, drop at the front of the comb is 1 3/8″, drop at the rear of the comb 1 1/4″, and drop at heel 2″. The drops are consistent with each barrel set. The stocks rate in Very Good-Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 96% of its metal finish. The balance is mostly in handling wear on the rear of the trigger guard and the controls. The finish is thinning at some edges. Each barrel set has light wear from installation/removal of the forend, concealed when assembled. The action shows light operational wear. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun set is in Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors. The barrels lock up tight to the receiver with no play. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes in a hard-sided Perazzi case with three combination-lock latches (one is broken), fabric covers for the barrel sets and stocked receiver, stock wrench, wood comb assembly, Perazzi plastic case with tool, pair of mainsprings and pair of firing pins.

Our Assessment: Perazzi sounds like a high end sports car, and in the gun world it is. They have long been a staple of just about any kind of shotgun sport you can name, famous for their craftsmanship, beauty and durability. As such, they command a high price, with some buyers going all the way to Italy to be measured in person so that their gun can be specially and exactly fit to them. That said, like a high-end sports car, it can be much more economical to buy used, especially one lightly used such as this. This MX3 is a wonderful set with a top-single barrel assembly suitable for Trap and an Over/Under barrel assembly that should be great for hunting. The set is in Fine condition, showing signs of responsible use by its previous owner. Just be careful, once you have one Perazzi you’ll want another. Please see our photos and good luck!
