Markings: The right side of the frame is marked with “SPRINGFIELD INC / GENESEO IL USA / NM86889”. The right side of the slide is marked with the crossed cannon logo, “SPRINGFIELD ARMORY”, and “SPRINGFIELD / Custom”. The left side of the slide is marked “MODEL 1911-A1 / CAL .38 SUPER”. The interior flat of the slide is marked “86889”.
Barrel Length: 5 1/4” with Swaged Dual Port Compensator
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a “T” shaped blade that is dovetailed into the compensator parallel to the bore and also has a set screw. The rear sight is a Bomar square notch target sight and is dovetailed into the slide. The rear sight and the rear of the slide are serrated for glare reduction. The top of the slide is serrated.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece white-painted alloy with eagles holding shields with stars and stripes. The grips show some little scratches and scrapes through the painted finish. There are no chips or cracks. The front and back straps have sharp checkering. The grips rate in about Very Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. There is some light thinning and finish loss on the edges. There is a bit of operational finish loss on the left side of the slide from contact with the dust cover. There are a few tiny little scuffs and tiny scratches. There are some spots of dark discoloration on the sides of the hammer. The font strap checkering has a few flattened peaks. There is operational wear. The screw heads are tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The grip safety is pinned and deactivated. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included with this gun is a 9-round magazine. The magazine shows some minor operational wear and rates in about Fine condition.
Our Assessment: This is a Springfield Armory 1911-A1 pistol that has been customized and turned into a competition gun. The action has been worked on and the trigger pull is a joy. A dual port compensator has been installed and a “T” shaped front sight is mounted to it. The front strap and trigger guard are checkered for a positive grip and a new set of grips has been installed. The gun has been setup with dual “mudflap” lever safeties and an extended beavertail safety which has been deactivated. This gun promises to be a joy to shoot and is certainly one of a kind. The 1911 platform has proven itself for over 100 years and is not stopping yet, this will be a great addition to any arsenal! Please see our photos and good luck!
