Markings: The top of the rib is marked “H.G. CORDES BREMERHAVEN”. The bottoms of the barrels and the water table have Belgian proof marks as well as crowned “V” German foreign-made proofs. The bottom of the receiver above the lever is marked “919”. The receiver has decorative relief engraving.

Choke: Left: Cylinder, Right: Cylinder, both fixed.

Sights / Optics: This shotgun has a brass bead fixed to the front of the rib.

Weight: 6 lb., 10.6 oz.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered and carved walnut with a splinter forend, semi-pistol grip, straight comb, checkered black hard rubber buttplate with hunting dogs and stag carving, and a sling swivel in the belly (there is another swivel mounted to the bottom of the barrel rib in front of the forend. The stocks have some scattered light nicks, scuffs and scratches with a few more notable dings in the left of the buttstock. There is a tiny crack at the rear edge of the right lockplate and a small loss at the rear edge of the left lockplate. The checkering and carving is well defined. The LOP measures 13 7/8″ and 12 7/8″ from the fronts of the triggers to the back of the buttplate. The plate has scattered light wear with some more notable marks around the edges. Drop at comb is approximately 1 1/4″, drop at heel 2 1/8″. The stock is cast off. Overall, the stocks are in Very Good-plus condition as Antique.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bores are dark with erosion and pitting scattered throughout.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 70% of its metal finish. The barrels still have fairly strong damascus patterning. The receiver’s case color has mostly muted in exposed areas with stronger finish in protected areas. There are some scattered light nicks, scuffs and scratches. The action shows operational wear. There is infrequent surface oxidation. The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with strong slot, the right hammer’s retaining screw is missing. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Fair-Good condition as Antique (see Mechanics).

Mechanics: The firing pins tend to stick forward, catching on the extractor when the action is opened and it is difficult to press the pins back flush with the standing breech. The right hammer’s retaining screw is missing. Otherwise, the action functions correctly. The barrels lock solidly to the frame. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
