Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN UTAH / MADE IN JAPAN/MIROKU”. The right side of the barrel is marked “PAT. 4723369 A-BOLT CAL. .223 REM. ONLY / PATS: U.S. RE.35,381, EUROP. 0579806 & PEND.”. The right rear shoulder of the receiver is marked with the serial number. The left shoulder of the receiver is marked “MEDALLION” in a banner. The shoulders of the receiver and the magazine floorplate are scroll engraved. The underside of the trigger guard is engraved with a gold-filled Buckmark logo. The left of the chamber and bolt head are marked “NP”.
Barrel Length: 22″ To end of BOSS Muzzle Brake. A factory sticker is applied to the boss system.
Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver has two pairs of drilled, tapped, and filled holes for mounting an optic (not included).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is checkered walnut with a high gloss finish, rosewood nose and grip caps, straight comb, sling swivels in the forend and belly, and a solid black rubber checkered Browning buttpad. There are no significant imperfections, just some faint handling marks and a small amount of light discoloration in the front of the checkering on the right side of the forend. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is very sharp. The LOP measures 13 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the recoil pad which has no significant wear worth mentioning. The stock rates in about Fine-Excellent overall condition.
Type of Finish: The barrel, receiver, and bolt are blue, the synthetic magazine floorplate and trigger guard have a black finish and the trigger is gold-colored.
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is no significant wear or damage. The bolt has faint operational wear. There is some faint thinning on the edges of the muzzle brake. The screw heads are sharp and the markings are clear. This rifle rates in about Excellent overall condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This is a very nice looking Browning A-Bolt II bolt action rifle built by Miroku in Japan, chambered in .223 Remington and equipped with Browning’s BOSS system. As stated on Browning’s website, “Browning’s Ballistic Optimizing Shooting System (BOSS) is a patented breakthrough in rifle accuracy. When any rifle is fired, the barrel goes through a series of vibrations as the bullet leaves the muzzle. The variations of these vibrations greatly affect the accuracy of the rifle. Controlling these vibrations will greatly control the accuracy of the rifle. Browning’s BOSS allows you to control the vibrations of your barrel so you can shoot groups you didn’t think possible.”
The rifle also features a beautiful walnut stock, a high luster blue barrel and scroll engraving on the shoulders of the receiver and the magazine floorplate. The stock has a high gloss finish with rosewood tipped forend and a rosewood grip cap. The rifle is in Fine-Excellent condition with about 98% of its original finish remaining and some faint wear in the stock. This rifle looks to have spent more time in storage than out with little evidence of use. Please see our photos and good luck!
