Markings: The sides of the receiver are marked “FRANCHI 2005”. The top of the receiver is marked with the serial number. The bottom of the receiver is marked “LUIGI FRANCHI / S.P.A. / BRESCIA / MADE IN ITALY”. The water table is marked with three Italian proof marks. The left shoulder of both barrel sets is marked “S. p. A. LUIGI FRANCHI-BRESCIA-MADE IN ITALY / 12 Ga. -CHAMBERED 2 3/4” – CHROME – MOLY STEEL”. The right shoulder of both barrel sets is marked “IMPORTED-BY-STOEGER-INC-S. HACHENSACK .N.J.”. The lower left shoulder of the single barrel is marked “KGI 580”, the bottom of the mono block is marked “CAM 70”, “5037532”, three Italian proof marks, and the “AD” date code. The lower left shoulder of the upper barrel of the double barrel set is marked “18.4”, the left side of the lower barrel is marked “??” and “KGI.740”, the bottom of the mono block is marked with three Italian proofs, the “AC” date code, “5029488, and “CAM.70”.

Chokes: The chokes on the double barrel set measure Full over Modified. The single barrel measures Full. The chokes are fixed.

Sights / Optics: The front sight on both barrel sets is a red plastic bead at the front of the rib with a smaller silver bead mid-rib.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered wood with a grooved forearm, pistol grip, straight comb, and an adjustable Terminator rubber buttpad. The wood shows general wear with some scattered light compressions and minor draglines. There are two more notable marks on the right side of the grip. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. When the single barrel is installed, the drop at the comb is 2” and the drop at the heel is 2 1/8”. When the double barrel set is installed, the drop at the comb is 2 3/16” and the drop at the heel is 2 5/16”. The LOP measures 12” & 13 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad and wood, respectively. The pad shows light wear and is soft. The stocks rate in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion in the bores.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 89% of its metal finish. The barrel sets show similar wear with thinned spots from contact with the forearm and some evenly dispersed light nicks and scratches. The balance of the finish on the receiver shows notable thinning on the bottom with some faint erosion. There are also light scratches on the sides of the receiver and light thinning on the leading edges. The trigger guard shows a distinct plum hue. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good-Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This shotgun is equipped with a single selective trigger and a safety on the top of the receiver. We did not fire this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes in a soft beige Boyt canvas case with the previously mentioned barrel sets.

This is a beautiful shotgun manufactured in the late 1970’s. This shotgun features two different barrel sets, a single barrel and a double barrel set chambered for 12 Ga shells.
