Our Assessment: Designed for competition and built by one of America’s best modern gun makers, you would be hard pressed to find a better American made bolt action .22. That part of the rifle market has been left largely unserved since the Winchester Model 52 was discontinued, but this Kimber is a solid and worthy successor. The wood is as beautiful as anyone could hope for, the trigger and lock up are about perfect and the rifle is almost as nice to look at as it would be to shoot. This is one of a special order batch of Model 82 Custom Classic rifles by a gun shop in South Dakota. The stocks are adorned with 20 lpi checkering and made of high grade claro walnut. The top of the receiver is round with two scope mounts factory installed. This rifle is in Excellent condition and apparently has seen almost no use since it was test fired in 1985. This is a rare opportunity to bid on a custom Kimber of Oregon Model 82 in almost new condition.
