Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “WINCHESTER MODEL 94 CAL. 45 COLT / -MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-”. The top of the barrel is marked with an ovalled “WP”. The right of the barrel is marked “-WINCHESTER- / TRADEMARKS LICENSED FROM OLIN CORP.” The underside of the receiver is marked with the serial number “6555421.”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded blade dovetailed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a “U”-notch elevator sight with white triangle aiming reference dovetailed to the rear of the barrel. The notch is fine-adjustable for elevation. The top of the receiver is drilled, tapped and filled for a scope mount (none present).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece smooth wood with capped forend, straight wrist, straight grip and case color steel crescent buttplate. A lace-on butt cover is included with leather spacers inside the cover, and there is a piece of leather which has been glued to the belly and toe of the buttplate. Otherwise, the stocks show only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 1/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate, 14″ to the back of the cover when installed with the spacers. The plate has no notable wear visible, but there is a portion covered by the leathe rpiece which shows residue from the adhesive around the edges. Overall, the stocks are in Fine condition and would rate Excellent but for the glued piece of leather.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The action shows minor operational wear. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This rifle has a tang safety, rebounding hammer and a lever safety. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with a cardboard Winchester box with serial-matching label, styrofoam inserts, lock, offset hammer spur and an assortment of factory paperwork including manual.
Our Assessment: This is a very fine example of why Winchester Model 94’s have become one of the most owned firearms in U.S. history. The full length magazine tube is a superb contrast to the 20” octagonal barrel, which is affixed with tried and true iron sights. The addition of a white triangle is an excellent addition to this already fast-aiming rifle. This rifle features a rebounding hammer, and tang safety, as well as the original lever safety. This rifle appears to have seen limited and responsible use, with the only notable defect being a piece of leather glued to the stock at the toe which is not visible when the included leather butt cover is installed. The wood hardware and case color finish make for a display of true American craftsmanship which can be handed down generation after generation. The availability, versatility and power, of this rifle’s .45 Colt chambering are a definite plus, and might just be your next Cowboy Action piece. Please see our photos and good luck!
