Markings: The right side of the slide is marked “BAER / CUSTOM”. The right side of the frame is marked “LES BAER CUSTOM / HILLSDALE, ILL USA / LB5024”. The left side of the slide is marked “45 ACP”. The exposed portion of the barrel is marked “BAER 45 MATCH” The rear sight is marked “BO-MAR”. The front of the barrel bushing is marked “7267718 / N M”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated blade. The rear sight is a Bo-Mar square notch adjustable for windage and elevation. Both sights are dovetail set to the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered walnut with the Les Baer logo CNC engraved into the diamond center. There are only the lightest of handling marks on the grips. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Finish Originality: All Original
Bore Condition: The bore is Bright and the rifling is Sharp. There is No erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is a light scuff mark on the frame from assembling the pistol incorrectly. There is thinning on the finish of the barrel. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions Correctly. The trigger is adjustable and the weight of pull measures 3 lbs. 6 oz. with our gauge. The safety is ambidextrous however the left side is enlarged while the right side is slim line. We did not fire this handgun.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: One magazine with a rubber floorplate extension is included. It rates in Very Good Condition and shows some light thinning. This pistol comes in its original box which correctly describes the gun.
Our Assessment: This is a beautiful 1911 with an amazingly smooth action and tight tolerances. There is absolutely no play when the slide is moved side to side. The front of the slide is serrated as well as the back. The magazine well is chamfered for ease and speed of magazine replacement. The front strap is also checkered while the backstrap is serrated for added grip and control. The hammer is hollowed out and the trigger is adjustable. The weight of pull is light and crisp weighing in at 3lbs 6 oz. The ambidextrous safety will work well for both right and left handed shooters although it is biased for a right hander. This pistol will remain on the CA DOJ approved list for less than a year, expiring a New Year’s Day 2016, buy your Christmas present early this year!
