Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number “580-16280”, Ruger’s two-line safety warning message, the Ruger phoenix logo and “STRUM, RUGER & CO. INC. / SOUTHPORT, CONN. U.S.A.”. The rear of the receiver is marked “RUGER® / RANCH RIFLE / CAL. .223”. The Ruger phoenix logo is on the buttpad.

Barrel Length: 18.5”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade with protective ears integral to a base pinned to a band at the muzzle. The rear sight is an aperture on a mount fixed to the top rear of the receiver and is adjustable for elevation and windage. The receiver has integrated bases that can accommodate Ruger 1” rings (not included).

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is one-piece wood featuring a semi-pistol grip, straight comb and black rubber buttpad. There are a few light compressions and handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The buttpad just has light handling marks. The stock is in Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are a few light scratches and handling marks on the receiver and operational wear around the action. There is some colored residue hardened on the left side of the barrel. The screw heads are well defined. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Fine Plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with one (1) 5-round magazine with intact feed lips  and strong follower spring.

Our Assessment: The Ruger Mini-14 is a classic American rifle that has seen use in most sectors, private and military, all over the world. In production currently, there have been many variants throughout its history. This rifle is a Stainless Ranch model with a 18.5 inch barrel.
