Markings: The rear of the receiver is marked “U.S. RIFLE M1A / SPRINGFIELD / ARMORY / 141787”. The top of the bolt is marked “7790186 / HRT A21 / CGR”. The left sight knob is marked with numbers 2-11 with a hash mark between each number, “M” between step 10 and 11, “E” between 9 and 10, and “WC” between 8 and 9. The right knob is marked “LEFT / SA / LEFT” and has arrows. The top of the rear sight arm is marked “NM” and the aperture piece is marked “595”. The right side of the front sight is marked “NM 062”. The top of the barrel is marked “NM .308”. The left side of the trigger pack is marked “7267030-I”. The left side of the shank is marked “SPRINGFIELD INC. GENESEO IL”. The action is bedded to the stock. We did not remove the action from the stock to inspect for additional markings.

Barrel Length: 22?

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a post set between two protective ears dovetailed and set screwed to a base that is integral to the muzzle break. The rear sight is a fully adjustable aperture set between protective ears.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The walnut stock has a pistol grip and uses a synthetic upper handguard. The action is bedded in the stock. There are sling swivels mounted at the butt and on the forend. The buttstock has a checkered metal butt plate that swivels up to reveal a second checkered buttplate underneath it. The second buttplate has a trapdoor covering two holes in the stock for storage of the included cleaning equipment. The comb has a small repaired spot of material loss. There are light draglines and nicks throughout. The bottom of the forend has a notable compression just rear of the sling swivel. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 1/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate shows some light scratches and thinning along the edges. The stock rates in about Good-Very Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. The rifling is sharp & deep. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 92% of its metal finish. There is thinning on most leading edges. There is erosion throughout the gas piston. There are some light nicks and scratches on the barrel. The muzzle break has some build up in the ports. Orange paint has been applied to the rear sight knobs. The action shows light operational wear. The markings are deep. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle includes three (3) 20-round magazines and one (1) 10-round magazine. Please, NO magazines will be shipped to locations where they can not be legally transferred.
