Our Assessment: The Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan, introduced in 2005, is a modified version of the classic Redhawk, and Ruger’s first big-bore short-barrel firearm. Ideally carried in a chest rig, this short-barreled revolver can be drawn quickly should a bear or some other large predator attempt to ruin your peaceful fishing excursion. And should you run out of ammunition, you may opt to bludgeon the poor creature—weighing in at just under 3lb, it’s a sight better than brass knuckles! This example is in Fine-to-Excellent condition with a clean bore, minor wear, and strong mechanics. The double-action pull is smooth and breaks light, so repeat firing won’t be difficult. Good luck and happy bidding!
