Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”, the right is marked “32 S.&W. LONG”. The left side of the frame has S&W’s monogram logo, the right side of the frame has the four line Marcas Registradas. The sides of the grip frame have inspection marks, the butt is marked with the serial number. The yoke cut is marked with the model number, the yoke is marked with inspection marks.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade set on the barrels tapered rib. The rear sight is a square notch rear sight milled into the top strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered walnut Magna stocks with S&W medallions at their tops. There are a few light handling marks. There are no major defects. The checkering is mostly strong. Overall, the grips are in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are a few light marks, the most noticeable is on the right side of the barrel at the muzzle. There are some scattered light handling marks. There is a faint turn line on the cylinder. The markings are clear. The screwheads are sharp. Overall, this revolver rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder produces very light side-to-side play in full lockup of each chamber. The single-action is crisp and the double action is smooth. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a serial matching box, cleaning rod, bristle brush, and paperwork that does not include the manual.
Our Assessment: This is a Model 31-1 with a 4″ pinned barrel and a blued finish. The descendant of the original Model named the .32 Regulation Police, this is a small-framed .32 S&W Long revolver with a six shot capacity. The revolver retains about 98% of its metal finish with a great bore and strong mechanics, it truly looks sharp. This ought to a fine addition to your S&W collection.
