Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “PATENTED APR.20,1897. SEPT.9,1902 / DEC.19,1905. FEB.14,1911. AUG.19,1913” and “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.” with a Rampant Colt logo behind the slide serrations. The right of the slide is marked “MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY”. The right of the frame is marked with the serial number. The left of the frame is marked “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” on the dust cover and “JM” circled in “G” above the magazine release after inspector J.M. Gilbert Lt.Col., USA Colt Revolvers and M1911 .45 Pistols 1917-1918. The top of the chamber is marked “P” and “H”, the right side is marked “-COLT 45 AUTO-”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a short rounded blade. The rear sight is a flat topped “U”-notch dovetailed into the top of the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered walnut with smooth diamonds around the grip screws. The grips show no significant imperfections and the checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 99% of its metal finish. The chamber shows light thinning from operating the action. Otherwise, there are no noteworthy imperfections, only light handling wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are crisp. Overall, this pistol rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The slide is tight on the frame. The action functions correctly. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in its original blue Colt presentation box with a white outer sleeve with paperwork including a manual, a safety lock, and two 7-round magazines. The blue box and magazines show faint wear, in about Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: The 1911 and 1911-A1 pistols served the military of the United States from 1911 to 1985, through two World Wars and the Korean and Vietnam wars. They gained a reputation as a reliable handgun with plenty of stopping power, and are held in high regard by those who have used them. This is a faithful WWI reproduction of the original Model of 1911 straight from the source, Colt. The pistol is in Excellent condition with only a hint of operational wear. On top of that, it comes in its original blue Colt factory box with the previously mentioned accessories.
