Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “RUSSIAN AND / S.&W. SPECIAL” and “44”. The left side of the frame is marked “PAT. SEPT. 19, 1871 / JULY 2, 72 JAN. 19, 75” and with a Rampant Colt logo.” The top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.”
Barrel Length: 6 ½”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blue blade with a curved front face and a vertical rear face fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a “U” groove machined into the top strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The two piece walnut grips sport a Colt logo on each panel and dragon scale checkering on the bottom three quarters of the surface. The grips exhibit almost no signs of use and are rate in about Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: All Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. Almost no evidence of use is visible on the gun. There are two faint, short drag marks by one of the locking slots. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly and the cylinder lock up is tight. We did not fire this handgun.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in the original blue Colt Custom Shop box which sports a gold Colt logo on the lid. The box exhibits very little evidence of use and is in Excellent condition. The box is filled with two pieces of soft foam and contains a notice from the Massachusetts Attorney General, an NRA discount membership offer, a Colt Instruction and Safety Manual, an octagonal orange warning tag and a lock with keys and instructions. All the contents are in Excellent condition. The entire package comes in a white box which exhibits fraying at the corners and finish thinning on the surfaces. There is a Colt label on the left end which indicates the model and serial number of the pistol. The white box is in Fine condition.
Our Assessment: This is a Single Action Army commissioned by TALO from the Colt Custom Shop, designed by Wiley Clapp. This is number 42 of only 200 of these pistols manufactured in 2011. This one is in Excellent condition, the only mark being a very light drag mark by one of the locking slots. The revolver features a royal blue finish, a rare 6 ½” barrel and is chambered in .44 Russian and .44 Smith & Wesson Special. The unique rosewood grips sport a carved Colt logo and ‘dragon scale’ checkering. Complete with an original Colt box in Excellent condition, this is a spectacular addition to any Colt collection.
