Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “SMITH & WESSON / SPRINGFIELD, MA U.S.A.” The left side of the frame is marked “952-2 / DAB1642”. The right side of the frame is marked with the S&W Performance Center Logo. The right side of the slide is marked “Performance / Center”. The top of the chamber is marked “9MM”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade dovetailed into the slide. The rear sight is an adjustable square notch target sight with a serrated rear face and is dovetailed into the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are stippled wood with S&W monogram logos and smooth borders. There are a few light handling marks. There are a couple of little dings on the right panel up at the top. The stippling is strong. There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in about Fine Plus overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore but there is some stubborn fouling.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are a few light scuffs and rubs, most noticeable on the right side of the frame. There are a few little draglines from use and storage. There are a couple of little tiny spots of finish loss on the backstrap. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is an S&W metal hard case and a set of three 9-round magazines.
Our Assessment: In the year 2000 when S&W released the 952 through the performance center it was billed as the most accurate 9mm in the world. This may have been a true statement if nothing more it is a very bold statement from S&W. This pistol is the stainless steel 952-2 from 2008 based on its test fired case envelope, and judging by the looks it may not have been out of its case since then! The gun looks great with the lightest of wear. It only has a few minor scuffs and tiny marks, most will likely go unnoticed. The gun feels amazing and the trigger crisp and smooth. As advertised by S&W, this is probably the most accurate 9mm pistol in the world. Please see our pictures and be the judge for yourself, Good Luck!
