Markings: The right side of the frame is marked “DAN WESSON FIREARMS / NORWICH, NY U.S.A. / SERIAL NO. DW001029”. The right side of the barrel is marked “.357 MAGNUM”.
Barrel Length: 6” on the installed shrouded barrel. There is an included 7.25” barrel that has a ventilated rib shroud and a 3” barrel barrel with a ventilated rib shroud. All of the barrel shrouds have a full underlug.
Sights/ Optics: On the installed barrel the front sight is a green fiber-optic rod mounted on a black base fixed by the muzzle. The rear sight is a screw-set serrated square-notch leaf that is pinned to the top-strap. The other two barrels have a serrated blade fixed by their muzzles.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The attached grip is an aftermarket Pachmayr Monogrip which is one-piece checkered Goncalo Alves with finger grooves and a cap. The grip has some light handling marks but it lacks any notable defects. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grip is in Fine-Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are all bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in any of the bores.
Overall Condition: The revolver retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are a few light handling marks, nicks and scuffs. Notably, there is a light patch of wear on the bottom of the barrel, a turnline has developed on the cylinder and a few light handling marks on the frame. The markings remain clear. Overall, the gun is in Fine-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The single-action trigger is crisp and double-action is smooth. The cylinder locks with barely perceptible play on each chamber. We have not fired this revolver. As with all used firearms, it may need a thorough cleaning to meet your maintenance standards.
Box Paperwork and Accessories: The gun comes with its serial matched case, an EWK Arms Green fiber-optic sight for the gun, two spare barrels chambered for .357 Magnum (one is 7.25” and the other 3.25”), an Allen Key, a wrench, the original textured rubber grip (currently not installed, a user manual and padlock with key.
Our Assessment: This is a Dan Wesson manufactured Model 715 single and double-action revolver chambered for .357 Magnum cartridges. Dan Wesson is currently a subsidiary of Ceska Zbrojovka (CZ) that specializes in contemporary revolvers. The company was founded by Daniel B. Wesson II, great grandson of Daniel Baird Wesson who cofounded Smith & Wesson, in 1968 after his family’s business Smith & Wesson was acquired by Bangor Punta. Dan Wesson manufactured top quality revolvers, but its founder passed away in 1978 and the company subsequently ended up going through a leadership crisis before finally ending up as part of CZ. This is a beautifully crafted revolver that is a testament to the quality craftsmanship the Dan Wesson name is known for. The gun is very versatile with a total of three barrels to choose from and two sets of grips, among a few other accessories described above. This will make a great addition to any collection.
