Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.”. The left side of the barrel is marked “PEACEMAKER .22”. The left side of the frame is marked “PAT. SEPT. 19. 1871 / JULY 2. 72, JAN. 19. 75” and the Rampant Colt Logo. The underside of the frame is marked “G53869”. One cylinder is marked “.22 L.R.” three times around the outside, the other “.22 MAG.”. The left of the trigger guard has “V”.

Sights / Optics: The gun is mounted with a fixed front blade and a square notched topstrap rear sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered black plastic with rampant colts in ovals at the top and American Eagles at the bottom. The grips have a few scattered minor marks with one more notable scratch on the bottom of the left panel. The checkering is well defined and there is good detail on the colts and eagles. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Fine condition.
Type of Finish: Blue barrel and cylinders, color case frame, black anodized grip frame.
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are a few minor nicks on the bottom of the barrel in front of the cylinder pin. The left of the frame has a little bit of faint surface oxidation below the cylinder. The cylinders have light operational wear, a little more on the magnum cylinder which also shows some thinning at edges. The rear faces of the cylinder have a few dry-fire marks outside the chambers. The action shows light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. Despite the dry-fire marks on the rear of the cylinders, the timing is good. The cylinders lock up with very little play on each chamber. The trigger is crisp. We have not fired this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes with the additional .22 Magnum cylinder in a small yellow cardboard Colt box.
Our Assessment: This is Colt Peacemaker .22, a slightly smaller rimfire version of the famous Single Action Army. It has the look of the original SAA without the size, weight, or cost of feeding ammunition to its bigger centerfire cousin. This revolver is in Fine condition with a great bore and the vast majority of its finish remaining. It comes with a .22 Magnum cylinder, so it is great for both plinking and some smaller game and varmints. It ought to help round out a Colt revolver collection, or would be great for training a youngster. Please see our photos and good luck!
