Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “MAGNUM TWENTY / BROWNING” over a portrait of John Browning. There is light scroll and border engraving on the receiver. The left side of the barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. / MADE IN BELGIUM” “0kg863” is in an oval there is a “J” with an underscore, a Belgian proof mark and “20-75” in an oval followed by “15.8”. The underside of the receiver is marked “71X / 40455”. The right side of the barrel is marked “BROWNING AUTO-5 / **-SPECIAL STEEL 20GA. SHELLS-3″-26 / BROWNING PATENTS”.

Sights / Optics: This shotgun is mounted with a silver bead front sight on a ventilated rib.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are checkered walnut. The stocks have beautiful grain. The buttstock shows light compression marks. The LOP measures 14” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stocks rate in about Fine overall condition.

Finish Originality: All Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows the faintest frosting on the receiver. The hard edges of the receiver show light thinning. There are only the lightest of handling marks on the receiver and barrel. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes with three recoil washers (two black and one bronze) and an owner’s manual. The owner’s manual shows age and rates in Very Good condition.

Our Assessment: This Belgian-made Browning A5 Magnum 20 shotgun is in great condition and just screaming to go shooting. This shotgun would look great at your Shooting club taking birds or clay pigeons. This magnum gun is relatively light weighing around 6.6 lbs. So spend more time in the field and less time in the club house
