Our Assessment: For more than a century, Winchester’s 1894 has served as the quintessential lever action rifle. The design is still in production today and finds favor with both hunters and those who just like shooting a lever action. This example is a Model 94AE Trapper chambered for .44 Magnum. This is a great little brush gun that is short, light and handy, able to accept a scope, and chambered for a cartridge that is great for hunting small to medium game where closer shots are expected. It also wouldn’t be the worst thing to have around when you expect to encounter small to medium predators. That said, this is one of 500 made for the 1999 SHOT Show with a factory brushed chrome finish, so it will also interest the collectors out there. Please see our photos and good luck!
