Our Assessment: This Detonics manufactured 9-11-91 is a single-action semi-automatic pistol chambered for .45 ACP cartridges. The pistol is based on John Browning’s iconic design, the Colt Model 1911 semi-automatic handgun. The Model 1911 would remain the standard issue sidearm for the US military from 1911 through 1985, a span of over 70 years, before being replaced by the Beretta model 92FS. The gun has an aesthetically pleasing stainless steel finish and it remains mechanically sound. This is a beautifully constructed M1911 clone that should appeal to fans of the iconic handgun and gun enthusiasts writ-large. Good luck on your bid!
