Our Assessment: This Mannlicher-Schoenauer Model L is essentially a commercial variant of their SSG 69 sniper rifle. The receiver is a little lighter and the rifle is equipped with a handsome skip-line checkered walnut stock, but has the same quality hammer-forged barrel of the SSG. This example is chambered for .243 Winchester, which will make it suitable for both hunting as well as target shooting. This rifle will make someone smile every time they pull it out of the safe.
