Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the polygonal rifling is well-defined. There is no erosion, but there is light stubborn fouling along the grooves.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains 95% of its phosphate finish. Light thinning can be seen on most edges with moderate scuffs and holster wear primarily on the right side. Light nicks and scuffs are dotted throughout. Pins and controls are unmarred, and all markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Fine condition.

Mechanics: The actions function correctly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: This Glock 17 pistol will ship in its original serial-matching “Tupperware” Bullet Box with cleaning rod and brush tip, the manual, a load-assist device, and two (2) magazines, one 10-round, and an early 17-round.

Please note, NO magazines will be shipped where they can not be legally transferred.

Our Assessment: The Glock pistol was designed in 1980 by Gaston Glock, a 50-year-old fabricator of polymers and curtain rods, as an answer to the Austrian military’s need of a replacement for their Walther P38. In that time, the Glock pistol has gone on to be perhaps, both as a brand and a design, the most widely and easily recognized modern firearm throughout the world—the Superman “S” or Coca-Cola of firearms, if you will. It all seems so unlikely, too, considering the competition—H&K, Sig Sauer, Beretta, oh my—and the general down-the-nose-view of polymer being used in firearms at the time. Regardless, by 1982 the Glock 17 was indeed the sidearm of the Austrian military. And today, the world. On offer here is a classic Glock 17 with its original case and an early-days magazine (by our estimation, it is a third iteration magazine). Good luck and happy bidding!
