Our Assessment: The Remington 700 needs no introduction, it has been one of the most popular bolt action rifles in America for decades, seeing use in target shooting, hunting, and in law enforcement, and has been produced in just about any caliber and configuration you could think of. Being so popular and well like, a host of aftermarket parts are available and there are a number of gunsmiths who specialize on the platform. This is a custom done by Bob Gilkey who was a Northern California-based gunsmith in the 1980s. This is one of his custom 700s built on a left-handed action. It is chambered for the .375 H&H Magnum cartridge and has a custom crowned 20″ barrel. It has a custom checkered walnut stock with a straight comb and cheekpiece and comes topped with bases for a scope. It has a nice trigger pull and will be fun to take a few shots with. Please see our photos and good luck!
