Our Assessment: The Browning BAR rifle was produced starting in 1967. This is a Grade IV example from 1977 engraved by Browning master engraver J. Bague. It features gorgeous game scenes on either side with meticulously defined floral scroll engraving. It has a 24? barrel which has a bright bore and sharp rifling. The rifle looks to have seen little use in the field, retaining about 97% of its metal finish and strong mechanics. This semi-automatic rifle is chambered for 7mm Remington Magnum. Because of its flat shooting nature and the relatively tolerable recoil, the 7mm Remington Magnum is especially popular for big-game hunting in Canada and in the United States, as well as for use on plains game in Africa. It has also been chambered in sniper rifles as the US Secret Service counter-sniper team has deployed this cartridge in urban areas along with the .300 Winchester Magnum. This is a gorgeous rifle that deserves its rightful place in any respectable Browning collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
