Our Assessment: The Colt Python was first introduced in 1955 as Colt’s top-of-the-line model and was originally intended to be a large-frame .38 Special target revolver but ended up being a .357 Magnum. This is 1 of only 251 Nickel .38 Special Colt Python Targets made. These are highly sought after and are known for their reliability and superb accuracy. Although some may flinch at the thought of shooting such a highly collectable firearm, if you are brave enough to shoot this beautiful revolver you are sure to be delighted; especially a coveted Nickel model in such Excellent condition. If you live in California, a Private Party Transfer, such as we offer here, is just about the only way to acquire a factory Nickeled Colt Python, much less one of the very limited number of nickeled Pythons chambered in .38 Special.
