Markings: The left side of the upper barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. / MADE IN JAPAN”. The right of the top barrel is marked “SPECIAL STEEL 28 GA-2 3/4”-26””. The top tang, under the lever, is marked with the serial number. The sides of the receiver are marked with scroll engraving. The bottom of the receiver is marked “BROWNING / Citori”. The inside of the forend iron is marked “04933” and the inside of the forend is stamped “4933”. The bottom of the monoblock is marked with proofs. The left side of the monoblock is marked and “04933”. The left side of the lower barrel is marked “3” and the left side of the upper barrel is marked “1”. The left side of the upper chamber is marked “*” and the left of the lower chamber is marked “**”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a custom brass bead set on the rib at the muzzle. There is a small alignment bead on the rib. The top of the rib is checkered for glare reduction.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are checkered walnut with a Schnabel tip forend, straight grip, and straight comb. The cheeks of the buttstock have been custom checkered. There are some light compressions and draglines, the most noticeable are on the left side of the buttstock. There are some scattered light handling marks. The checkering is mostly strong. The LOP measures approximately 14 1/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the aftermarket brown rubber buttpad and 13 3/8″ to the wood. The drop at comb is approximately 1 3/8” and at heel 2 1/4”. The cast is about neutral. The pad has some light handling wear. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is some stubborn fouling and areas of erosion in the lower bore. There is no erosion in the upper bore.
Overall Condition: This gun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The barrel set has been cut. There are a few light marks on the receiver. There are some little marks through the finish on the trigger guard. There are a few light scuffs and faint marks through the finish infrequently scattered over the barrel set, the most noticeable are towards the front. The shank of the screw is visible on the underside of the rib. There are some light handling marks. There is standard operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in about Fine Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The lockup is tight. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: Browning Citori shotguns are extremely dependable and make for great investments. The Citori was introduced in 1973 as an alternative to the highly successful Superposed model. It has been made ever since in numerous calibers and configurations filling just about any role you could think of for an over under shotgun. This example has 23 1/4” custom cut barrels chambered for 28 Gauge 3 inch shells and is choke Cylinder over Cylinder due to being cut. With its straight grip stock and Schnabel tip forend, this Citori is certainly a looker that will turn some heads at the range. This one has a tight lockup, bright bores, and a lot of original finish with hardly anything in the way of wear, you would never guess that it is over 40 years old.
