Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “WINCHESTER MODEL 9422 XTR -.22 S-L-LR / -MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A.WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-”. The top of the barrel and receiver are marked with a Winchester proof. The bottom of the frame and lever assembly are marked “F330960”. The buttplate is marked with the Wichester Repeating Arms logo.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded beaded blade that is dovetailed to a serrated, ramped base which is fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a “U” notch leaf and elevator style sight, the elevator is present. The top of the receiver is grooved for mounting an optic (not included).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece smooth walnut with straight grip & comb, checkered black plastic Winchester buttplate and barrel band on the forend. The wear on the wood surfaces is more consistent with storage wear than with actual shooting wear. There is a stubborn dried preservant on the sides of the wrist. There is light crazing on the comb and left side of the buttstock. The forearm shows just a couple faint marks. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 3/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The buttplate shows faint wear and discoloration with well defined checkering. The stocks rate in about Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 96% of its metal finish. There are areas of stubborn dried grease on the sides and bottom of the receiver, as well as on the hammer and the front sight hood. There are sparsely scattered nicks, scratches, and handling marks throughout the metal surfaces. The bolt shows finish loss from working the action. The markings are clear. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The hammer has a half cock safety position. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes in its original serial matching box with paperwork including a manual. The box shows scattered light discoloration from age and a tear in the front.
Our Assessment: This is a Winchester 9422 XTR, based, of course, on the company’s tried and true Model 94 Lever Action carbine. The 9422 XTR is chambered for the .22 short, long, or long rifle caliber, making for a fun little plinker or pest control gun. This rifle is in Fine condition, showing little signs of use. This would be a great rifle for taking care of all kinds of varmint as well as being a nice piece to add to a Winchester collection.
