Weight: 7 lb., 9.1 oz.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with semi-beavertail forend, pistol grip, straight comb and black rubber Kick-Eez buttpad. The stocks have some scattered light nicks, scuffs and scratches with some areas of thinning finish. There is some pooled finish on the bottom of the grip and a spot of finish on the top-right of the receiver at the rear edge. This indicates that a new coat of finish has been applied, though the wood shows little, if any sign of sanding. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. LOP measures 14 3/8? from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad, 13 1/4″ to the back of the wood (likely indicating that the stock has been cut). The pad is proud to the wood at the heel and shy at the toe, with shaping wear around the edges, most prominent at the heel. The rubber is still supple. Drop at comb is approximately 1 1/2?, drop at heel 2 3/8?. The cast is about neutral. Overall, the stocks are in Very Good condition as refinished.

Type of Finish: Blue & Coin

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. The barrels have some scattered light nicks and scuffs forward of the forend, with wear under forend from assembly/disassembly, concealed when assembled. The action shows operational wear. The receiver has only a few minor marks. The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in about Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors. The barrels lock up with no play. The safety does not return to safe when the action is opened, but functions properly when engaged manually. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.

Our Assessment: The iconic Model 101 Pigeon Grade is a shotgun with legendary styling and handling and the unquestionable reliability you expect from Winchester firearms. The Pigeon Skeet features everything you could want in a Skeet gun. It has 27? barrels choked Skeet (naturally), a wide rib with a white front bead and mid-bead. Le’ts be honest, the most important thing is that it looks good, too! This shotgun shows wear consistent with some use on the Skeet fields, but still locks up tight and looks like it was well maintained. If you’re looking for your first Skeet gun or your last, you’ll want to get your bid in on this one. Please see our photos and good luck!
