Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “NEW FRONTIER .22”. The top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.”. The left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo and patent dates. The underside of the frame is marked “G206152”. The left side of the trigger guard is marked “VP” in a triangle. The back of the loading gate is marked “I” and “B” in a circle.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade that is fixed to the barrel, the rear sight is a fully adjustable square notch at the rear of the top strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip panels are two-piece checkered black plastic. The grip panels are both decorated with the Rampant Colt logo and the Great Seal of the United States. There is only some faint discoloration in the checkering on the right panel. Otherwise, there are only faint handling marks. The checkering is sharp. There are no cracks or chips. Overall, the grip panels are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is some stubborn dried grease throughout. There are no major imperfections. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder has barely perceptible play on each chamber of both cylinders. The hammer has four clicks. A cross-bolt safety is present next to the loading gate. The trigger is crisp. We have not fired this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes in its original serial matching box with paperwork including a manual and a factory letter.
Our Assessment: On offer here is the adjustable sighted cousin of Colt’s legendary Single Action Army, the New Frontier Single Action Army. While the original SAA revolvers have rugged, fixed sights, the New Frontier has a ramped front sight and adjustable rear sight, giving it a rather contemporary appearance. Still made by Colt and true to the original design, this one was made between 1982-1986 based on its cross-bolt safety feature which was offered during that period. This New Frontier model chambered for .22 LR. This example is in Excellent condition with light storage wear, a great bore, and strong mechanics. The finish throughout is strong and beautiful. This revolver also comes with its original serial matching box that shows only light storage wear and is in Fine condition. This should make a fun little plinker for the lucky winner.
