Markings: Barrel right shoulder marked with a factory warning. Barrel left shoulder marked “CAL. 6.5×55 SE MADE IN FINLAND”, and a proof mark. Receiver left side “TIKKA T3”, “K50438” and a proof mark. The buttpad is marked with the Tikka logo.

Sights/Optics: There is no provision for iron sights on this rifle. The receiver is grooved for the attached optic rings that have mounted in them a Leupold VX-2 3-9×40 scope with a duplex reticle. The scope body is virtually free of wear and there is no damage. The glass is fairly clear, and overall, the scope rates in Fine-plus condition.
Stock Configuration and Condition: The stock is a checkered wood with a fluted straight comb, and a smooth black rubber buttpad. There are sling studs front and back. There are minor draglines and dings scattered about the wood along with minor handling wear. There is one more notable drag line on the right hand side of the forearm and there is a spot where the left side checkering is marred. The LOP measures 14 1/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The buttpad has only light use wear. Overall, the stock is in Fine-plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion, but minor stubborn fouling is scattered about the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The barrel has a few minor nicks through the finish, most notably on the underside near the muzzle. Screws have minor tool marks with strong slots, and all markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine-plus-to-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: Known originally as Tikkakoski, a company that sold a myriad of consumer goods and textiles, Tikka as it is better known made firearms as well under ownership of SAKO, another Finnish arms company. Tikkakoski is long defunct, but firearms are produced to this day under the Tikka brand name by Beretta USA. Reliable, inexpensive, and handsome, Tikka rifles are a favorite among modern shooters. This T3 Hunter is chambered for the rather rare-in-the-States and long out of military service 6.5×55mm Swedish (Mauser). This round will take down most game animals up to Moose.
