Our Assessment: High Standard had a long history of manufacturing target pistols going back to before WWII, so they had lots of time to perfect the design. The Supermatic Trophy was designed as a high-end target pistol with a Patridge front side and a target rear sight adjustable for elevation and windage. It had a trigger that was adjustable for pull weight as well as over-travel, and the barrel was grooved and the underside drilled, tapped and filled for mounting barrel weights and a muzzle brake. The Supermatic Citation was just beneath the Trophy, without the Trophy’s super polished finish. This pistol is in about Fine condition. This should make someone an outstanding target pistol that should easily rival most of the newer target pistols being manufactured today. Please see our photos and good luck!
